Where I slept: The Hawthorne Hotel Rating: ✈️✈️✈️✈️✈️ Comments: Best bed I ever slept in! Also, wonderful service. I love their VIP of the Day, not just because I was selected. The VIP of the Day gets to select the two front-entrance flags for the following day. One flag is a United Nations member and the other one of the fifty United States. VIP status also gives you a $10 voucher for one of the two restaurants. My room was spacious with lots of daylight (I did have a corner room, which may have helped.) The bathroom was small but functional. On entering the room, there was a small antechamber with hooks for hanging coats and bags. If you travel with your dog, the hotel is dog friendly and offers Doggie Room Service Treats (made me wish I had a dog!)
Where I ate: Personal note: I'm not a food critic and not much of a "foodie." I also avoid certain foods for dietary reasons. My enjoying (or not enjoying) a place is purely personal and not a professional review, critique, or comment.

What I did: I walked...a lot. I love walking and Salem is a very walkable town/city.
To be fair about my 3-Jett rating, I'm not much of an arcade person any more because I get sensory overload in noisy places. But it looked fun. I did meander around the waterfront (see picture gallery below) and found a path in a small wooded area to take a picture of a pink ribbon fluttering in a tree (see my thoughts on Hawthorne's "Young Goodman Brown").
